This is the simplest way to create a custom Home Page in WordPress website. All of you’ve to do is create a file and name it xyz.php and save all the files in this folder. This file will automatically take over your index.php and it will be your Homepage. This method is useful when there is no need of separate blog page.
Another way is to simply copy and paste the index.php in the template file and name it xyz.php.
Click on Settings>Reading, then select the option of Static Page and select the page that you want to be the Homepage.
After doing that, save the settings and you’ve the custom Homepage. This page will be displayed as your front page and separate pages will be displayed on different pages.
2. Creating the front page template:
Use the following code for creating your first front page template.
* displaying the homepage.
// front page content
<?php get_footer(); ?>
After that save the file as function.php or whatever suits you. Note that this folder contains footers and headers, therefore, save it in a separate folder.
3. Add content to the Homepage:
After creating and saving the file, it’s time to add content. For doing that simply use the following code:
<?php if ( have_posts() ) while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>
<article id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>” <?php post_class(); ?>>
<section class=”enter-content “>
<?php the_content(); ?>
</section><!– .entry-content –>
</article><!– #post-## –>
WordPress will detect this code automatically and would display the Homepage’s content.

After downloading this file copy all the content and paste it at the end of your custom homepage template file. Save this file and using FTP server upload it back to the theme folder. You can follow the same process and edit as much as web pages as you can.

panel:add_panel( ‘product_description’, array(
‘priority’ => 20,
‘title’ => __( ‘Product Description’, ‘ XYZ’ ),
‘description’ => __( ‘Panels to show description of the products’, ‘XYZ’ ),
7. Uploading the file on the server:
For uploading the file you need an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) application and for that, you can setup FileZilla for transferring the files to the server. After installing the FTP client server open it and connect it to the live site. Once you are connected to the site make sure that you upload all the files in the right directory.
